Re-emphasis on the Prohibition of O&D Manipulation Booking

Re-emphasis on the Prohibition of O&D Manipulation Booking

Please be advised that Korean Air regards the misuse of GDS as a serious violation.

We are re-emphasizing that the following O&D (Origin & Destination) manipulation is considered as the misuse of GDS which is a serious violation of Korean Air’s reservation regulation.

1.  Married Segments Control (MSC) Violation

Two or more segments of an origin and destination are married together to form a customer’s complete journey and are treated as a single unit/sector instead of individual legs/segments. The breaking of married segments or creation of itineraries to circumvent married O&D segment logic is prohibited

2.  Manipulation of the POC (Point of Commencement)

Manipulating the point of commencement (POC) by adding random segments first and booking out of sequence to get lower class availability is prohibited.

Korean Air’s booking policy prohibits any kind of inventory manipulation and creation of reservations with the intent of obtaining inventory for ticket sales which Korean Air does not intend to offer between the passenger's actual origin and destination itinerary.

The level of sanctions for violations of O&D manipulation may vary depending on the severity of the case, such as debit memo, prohibition of reservation/ticketing.
